I am writing this article because most of the aspirants are done with their Chevening Application Form and you have submitted it timely. Now, there are two types of candidates:
Type One Student:
Those who have already applied to universities and have been accepted with a conditional or unconditional offer letter. If you have applied to university and have been accepted to your desired program, in case of unconditional acceptance, you have nothing to do more, we wish you a successful consideration.
If your letter of acceptance is conditional, make sure to step out and fulfill the condition(s) by July 2023. Only one unconditional offer letter is compulsory by July 2023, so if you have at least ONE from the listed universities in your application, that is fine until you want to satisfy the conditions of the other listed university/program.
Type Two Students:
Those who have submitted scholarship applications but haven’t applied to university
Now it is the time to start applying for admission to the programs listed in your application
The timeline of admissions may be varied from university to university, however, make sure to check, if their admissions are open then apply for it. If admissions are not open, then wait for a while, check the admissions timeline and mark your Calendar accordingly.
For taught masters, no approval from a professor is needed, simply apply on the admissions portal of the university. Chevening will not process any admission application to your program in your desired university, it is the responsibility of the applicant to secure admission
Chevening will not fund any admission form processing-related fees, hopefully, you have selected your universities carefully.
You may normally get acceptance to the January 2023 intake. In this case, you will need to request the admissions office to defer your slot/admission to the September 2023 intake as per the requirements of Chevening.
Reference Letters
Request your nominated referees to write letters of reference/recommendation for you
Recommendation letters play a vital role in the shortlisting and selection process, make sure to get a good one but a reality to Trailing documents/letters of recommendation.
You can upload your trailing documents if any or letters of recommendation till February 2023.
Finances:
It is advised for your information again to never enter any financial commitments with any institutions unless you are instructed by the Chevening Authorities after the final selection.
